First settled after the Revolutionary War by a Soldier from Connecticut, who is buried in the small cemetery located on the property. It was the frontier at the time and the plan was to settle it with soldiers as they would be more likely to survive the hardships of the frontier.
The land tract at that time was 450 acres, it is 150 acres today. The oldest part of the house dates back to the early 1800’s.
The farm was once a major producer of hops but a blight around 1910 wiped out the crop across New York State.
It then became known for its registered Ayrshire cows.
There are walking and hiking trails to explore the surrounding nature and sights or enjoy the deer and turkeys that can be seen from the house.
